SBHS Boy's Beach Volleyball

This is the first season for California High School Beach Volleyball and Henry is on the Santa Barbara High team! 

They have competed in a few events, most recently here in SB while the AVP tournament was going on. Henry and his partner played a varsity match and won! You can read more about them here.

CU Soccer game

Josie's team got to walk out during the introductions during the Colorado/St. Mary's soccer game a few weeks ago.  A girl that used to babysit for us works at CU and is in charge of organizing teams to be ball girls and walk out with the teams.  They had so much fun!

Tilly's birthday part 2 & 3 & 4

On the night before Tilly's actual birthday she invited a friend over for dinner and a sleepover.  Her BFF Maggie came with us to Benihana.  We had such a good time.  It's always fun going to a place like that with a kid who has never been.  

The next night, her actual birthday Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Bart came down to give her presents and take her out to dinner.  She choose 3 Margaritas mexican restaurant.  I think she likes the sombrero they put on her (the glasses are fake, a birthday present).

 The tradition of birthday cereal continues.

4th Grade, Jr High, High School.....oh my!

Somehow, a few months have gone by without an update from me.

Sorry about that.

In the meantime, we've been to the lake, to a bluegrass festival, to at least 4 volleyball tournaments and 2 horse shows. Not to mention school.

This is a big year for new schools. Mae in 7th grade at SBJHS and Henry in 9th at SBHS.

Really!!!??? High School.

So far, everyone is doing really well. Homework is a drag (do they really need more school after being in school all day?) but friends, classes and sports are great.

One of Tilly's birthdays.

Chance was going to be out of town on Tilly's actual birthday so two nights before her birthday we surprised her with her presents.  Chance took her out skateboarding around the neighborhood while the girls and I decorated the house and put her presents out.  She was so surprised when she walked in the house.  It was a good surprise and she loved all her presents.

1st Day of School...and an old school friend

First Day of School 2nd Grade, 5th Grade and 7th Grade! 

My friend Lynn Jelly, whom I went to 7th and 8th grade with, was in Denver for a work convention (she works for Harley Davidson).  Chance and I went down to Denver and had dinner and drinks with her.  It was so fun to catch up and hang out.

So far both Josie and Isabel's teams have played in two tournaments each.  The first three pictures are from Isa's first tournament, which they won.  The next three pictures are from Josie's second tournament, which they won!

Rain Rain Go Away!

We've had rain the past two days non stop.  The girls' schools were closed today due to flash flooding, roads washed out and more rain!  Isabel, Sue and I went for a walk down by the creek (I know they say that's the absolute wrong thing to do but we did it anyway) to check out the water levels.  They were pretty high.  The whole golf course was flooded.  The picture of the bridge below is a trail I usually run on.  It is almost completely underwater now.  I think the rain is supposed to continue through Saturday! Yikes!!!
