Isabel has turned 7! Un-be-lisabel!
Thankfully we had a birthday so I could use the new sand castle cake mold. Thank you Amanda. It was so fun to do. Isabel helped me make the cake and it was very exciting to take it out of the mold when it was finished.
Then came the fun part, decorating it. We used some icing from a recipe we got from Grandma Cindy and then added a few extras to the castle including skittles. This was completed Sunday the 6th. On Monday the 7th we opened presents and had breakfast cereal. This is the one day of the year when the birthday person gets to pick out whatever kind of cereal they want (we have gone to 2 boxes as our family has grown). This year it was Cinnamon Toast Crunch (remembered fondly from Aunt Marg's house this summer) and Fruity Pebbles. Yummy! After a day hanging out with dad (school doesn't start until Wednesday) we went out to sushi and then home for birthday cake. Fun day.

Are their birthdays really just one day apart??? (Mae and Isabel, I mean) wow.
Excellent looking cake, Jil.
My cake molds (a train and a star) are still packed, so I did cupcakes for Milo this weekend. His birthday was Jan 6. I'll email you a link to the pics.
The cake looks so cool. Was it tasty? I want a mold like that. I need more reasons to bake, right?
Clarissa-Mae's b-day is on the 5th and Isa's is on the 7th. It is pretty cool having cousins so close in age.
The cake looks great! Hope you had a nice trip back to CO.
thanks Amanda. It was such fun making that cake...and eating it. Thanks again for all the great gifts!!! It was fun seeing you on Christmas.
