Chinatown

Last Thursday, I went to LA's Chinatown with Mae's class. We took the train down, which was an adventure all in its own. Picture 50 kids (a 4-5th grade class went, too) and 35 parents in an Amtrak car. It was tons of fun! This is outside the Thien Hau Temple, an amazing building inside and out.
The colors are so bright and rich, lots of red and gold.

I loved the lanterns hanging outside.

Here is a view down the main (tourist) shopping street, I loved those lanterns, too.

We had lunch (all 85 of us) at a Chinese restaurant then shopped a bit. Exhausted (we left the house at 6:15am that morning) we jumped on a bus and headed for home. What a fabulous day.
