We skipped school last Friday to go to a new (to us) beach. It was great. We stopped at the Cajun Kitchen first for breakfast. Also great.
This is at the end of Linden Avenue in Carpinteria a few miles south of us.
It is a pretty big beach with lots of room for running.
And exploring tide pools.
This beach has a pretty sizable natural tar seepage area. Long ago the tar was used to seal canoes and water containers. We just poked it with sticks. I was amazed to see black sticky tar just coming out of the rocks all wet and gooey. We stayed pretty clean. Good thing, cleaning off tar is no fun.

Baseball update-even though I haven't written about baseball, we've been very busy with games. Mae's team won their first tournament game and then lost the next, so they are done. It was a great way to end the season. I think she hit a double in every game. Henry's team is still going. They're into the playoffs with a 2-1 record (double elimination). He's been on first base mostly making some great plays and pitching a bit.
