Headed to Kindergarten

Well, not today, but soon enough. Today was Lucy's preschool graduation. I know that sounds hokey, but it wasn't. It was beautiful. These are some of her fellow 5 year olds and the head of the school (we love her!).
This was a pretty emotional day for me. Not because my baby is growing up, I know she is and I'm pretty happy with that. The hardest part has been leaving a preschool that we've been at for 7 years. SEVEN! That is all of her life, most of Mae's and all but three years of Henry's life.

I remember when Henry was 3 and I left him at this school for the first time. I felt like my heart was going to break as I left, watching him wave goodbye from the window. It was the same when I left Mae and Lu for the first time, too. Well yesterday, I got that same feeling walking out the door for the last time. A big part of who we all are as a family was nurtured inside that school and I will forever be thankful for them.
Enough blubbering. Look at this big kid. You're so ready to move on Lucy. Happy Kindergarten to you!

On a side note, I've had lots of opportunities to bake lately and with birthdays coming up even more. Here are some of my favorites:
