Surprise!!!

 For dad's 70th birthday Wendy and I flew out to NYC for the weekend to surprise him.  Boy did it ever!  With help from Carol we made it to the city and was waiting in the lobby when they got back from a walk.  It was a great weekend.  We went out to dinner Friday night, Marg & Alf came in to the city for dinner on Saturday and of course there were plenty of trips to Barney Greengrass for bagels and lox!

 This is a recreation of a picture we took 20 years ago for dad's 50th birthday, which we also surprised him at as well!  Amazingly, we all look exactly the same.

Josie and Lucy take on NYC

Lucy really wanted to see Wicked when they came out east this summer and it just worked out that Josie got in on the trip too.  Geema and geempa were supposed to take them in to the city for the show and then to spend the night at their apartment.  Unfortunately for geempa he was sick and unable to go. Fortunately for me, I got to go!!!  We had a great time cruising around the city, the show was amazing. Everyone had a great time.

NYC

It's catch up time here on the blog.  One day this summer Gima, Gimpa, Josie, Tilly & I went in to NYC for the day.  We had a blast.  It all started with a Double Decker train from Denville to Penn Station.  We went to Toys R Us in Time Square, met some NYC cops, saw some real live break dancers, played in Central Park and took a subway.  What more could you ask for?

New York City!

We spent our second week of spring break in New York City and it was wonderful. Even the weather mostly cooperated (wasn't too cold or too rainy). First stop, a day at the Bronx Zoo. It felt like we were the only people there. Nice!

On top of the Empire State Building. Yes, it was freezing up there, depending on which side of the building you were on.

Waiting for the ferry to the Statue of Liberty or 'Latue of Stivery' if you're Lucy.

It was kind of cold here too, but we all had lovely knit hats to keep us warm. From here we went to Chinatown for some lunch and shopping.
The trip also included a visit to the Museum of Natural History and Central Park.

Yay! for vacations and grandparents!!

New York::New York

Sorry for not posting for a while. We returned from 9 fun days in NYC and left the next morning for Tucson. Crazy! Upon returning I realized that I took 487 pictures in New York. Wow! Here is a slide show of some of the best. I tried to cut it down more but there were so many good times, I couldn't leave anything out. Enjoy.
