Christmas tree

Every year, we have a long discussion about what kind of tree to get. Should we get a tree we can plant? Should we just have a fake tree? In past years we have used a real lemon and lime tree (decorated!) and then planted them in the backyard. We want more fruit trees, but the trouble is that most of them (not citrus) look like sticks this time of year. Not so pretty in the living room. So we piled in to John's enormous truck and drove to Lane Farms. They had tons of beautiful evergreens. And a corn maze that we all got lost in!
See how seriously we take this?

Well, not all of us.

We came home with a lovely Fraser Fir that is about 5 1/2 feet tall. Let the decorating begin!

For some reason Lucy looks very Amish in that picture. Does she have a bonnet on? You know how I love the Amish.

I almost wrote something about "seeing this lovely Amish girl at the tree farm" but I didn't. She's just wearing a hat that ties. Sorry, no bonnet.
