Friday Night - getting ready for the Louisville Parade of Lights
It was really cold, probably around 20 degrees. Matilda and I stayed home by the fire.

The cookie making begins. Nothing too holidayish (new word created by me). Chocolate chip cookies::no matter how much you want them to - they don't hold their shape when you cook them.

After the cookie making our neighbors came over to ask if Isabel and Josephine wanted to go shovel all the driveways in the cul-de-sac with them. Unbelievably they said "yes". So, everyone got bundled up and went outside to shovel.
Tilly may not talk yet, but she got the point across that she wanted to go too. She would bring either me or Chance a hat and then some gloves and then some boots and then her coat. Finally I gave in, got her suited up and brought her outside. Isabel loved pulling her around on the sled.
During her shoveling break of course.

Sunday Morning - Gingerbread House day.
For the past 3 or so years we have done gingerbread houses with the Blankenship boys. Here we are again, another year another kid. We aren't quiet as ambitious as Wendy. We buy ours at Costco but I also found one here. Josie's looks like it survived (barely) an earthquake but she didn't seem to mind. We all had a blast and left on a sugar high!

notice the candy cane heart? thanks Mae for the inspiration, everyone here put one on their house

Back from getting hair cuts. I don't have a close up of Josie, she is hard to get to sit still.
Making snowflakes. A great end to a fabulous weekend. It seems like we have most of our free time on the weekends so we pack as much as we can in. I hope everyone is doing well. We are really enjoying our winter wonderland - although I am sitting here blowing in to my hands to warm them up as I type :)

is that Samantha Kalis? I can't even tell, she's so bundled up!!

Milo LOVES shoveling. Only problem is, he won't wear mittens mostly. He has already been out shoveling this morning - just a light dusting here.

No a different friend of ours named Samantha.

Matilda isn't too fired up about mittens either. Wonder why. It is snowing again here. They say another 3-5 inches tonight.
