Science Fair 2010

It is that time of year again, Science Fair at OAS. Lucy chose to study crystals and we made salt and sugar ones. Her display had glitter! Mae did crystals in 2008. Here is everyone's projects from last year.
Mae's topic was about fibers and what makes them turn into felt. Very interesting if I do say so myself. We had lots of fun with everything from linen to camel to hemp to cashmere. We were aided by the book that accompanied this exhibit at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. Thanks Grandma Carol!
Henry chose to see how far his modified laser could shine, something he found out about from the glorious science videos of youtube. I have to admit, it was pretty cool.
One night, Henry and John went up to Cleveland School which is about .2 miles, as the laser points, from our house. I stood on the back porch and flashed our light so they could identify the house. Then they pointed the laser and I took pictures. The laser also made it to the end of the pier which was about 1.5 miles, cool. I was talking on the phone to Henry during the filming of the video, just so you know.

Great job everyone! Start thinking about ideas for next year.

Great video! Everybody's science projects look to be very well done.

Do I see that Lucy has two missing teeth now?
