Last Friday I went with Mae's class on a service-learning field trip to a lovely estate a bit south of SB. We met up with Backyard Harvest ,an incredible organization that picks extra fruit and vegetables from area orchards and gardens and then donates the harvest to local food banks.
It was a very successful harvest, over 400lbs of blood oranges. And we all had fun picking.
I think these are among my most favorite fruit from the outside. They taste pretty good, too.
