Getting to the lake

Yes we are at the lake. After being here for two weeks and not having a card reader to download photos, Carol came up with the brilliant idea of putting my flash card in her camera and downloading them. Why I didn't think of that sooner, I do not know.

Tilly and I had a rough road getting to the lake. We left really early for the airport hoping to catch the 7:00am flight. That flight ended up getting delayed about 2 hours and we didn't get on it. The next flight was scheduled to leave at 10:45 but that too got delayed 2 hours. They called my name to come up to the counter to let me know they had 1 seat available. That didn't help us too much. The next flight was scheduled for 3:15 but delayed to 6:00pm. Luckily Chance was flying that day and had a little break between flights. We went to his gate and visited him. Tilly got to hang out in the cockpit and wear the headset. It was a highlight of our day. We finally got on a plane to New York at 6:15pm, a mere 12.5 hours after we arrived in the morning. We touched down at Laguardia at 12:45 and made it to the lake by about 2:00am.
Luckily, this is what greeted me my the first morning at the lake.
I will try to add a new post a day or two to get caught up on all the fun we have been having.

Air Show

This past weekend Jeffco Airport had their annual air show. We weren't there for too long but we saw some great planes both on and off the ground.

Weekends...

This past weekend was lovely. 70 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We spent the day hanging around the house, doing some yard work, swinging on the swings and just enjoying some well needed family time. Too much traveling lately. While we were outside playing we saw a B-17 fly over our house. We decided to hop in the car and head up to the local airport to check it out. Turns out they were offering rides to the public for the bargain price of $395.00 for 30 minutes. We opted to watch it (and a few other planes and helicopters) take off and land.
