1st Day of School...and an old school friend

First Day of School 2nd Grade, 5th Grade and 7th Grade!

My friend Lynn Jelly, whom I went to 7th and 8th grade with, was in Denver for a work convention (she works for Harley Davidson).  Chance and I went down to Denver and had dinner and drinks with her.  It was so fun to catch up and hang out.

Ragnar Relay Colorado

For all of you non-facebookers, here are some pictures from my relay last weekend.  Our team was called, The Muthas Take Two.  Last year we were Run Like A Mutha.  This year we had two new members and it wasn't our second year doing the relay.  This year it was run by Ragnar.  It was so much more organized than last year.  Our team had a blast and we did really well.  We finished 1st in our division, sub-masters (a team with at least one member under 40).  We finished second overall for all-women's team.  We finished 51st out of 163 total teams!  Woo hoo, go us!

The first morning in Breckenridge, van 1 is getting ready to start.

Van 2 waiting at Copper Mountain to start our section of running.

Me getting ready for my first night run (I did two).

Van 2 waiting for our runner to come in so I can go.

The exchange...I'm off!

A beautiful morning in Basalt, CO.

My last exchange, 2.75 more miles and I am finished!

I did 19 total miles over about 18 hours.

The Muthas at the finish line!!!

The next morning, well rested (13 hours of sleep for me) and cleaned up.

A beautiful morning in Snowmass, CO...a great day NOT to run :)

Candace's Visit & a little soccer

A shot of Josie in the goal
Izzy's team after a 2nd place finish in the CYS Cup
Candace came out to visit for a week before she headed off to Australia for 2 months. She had never been here so I decided to take her for a hike in Boulder up Mt. Sanitias. It was a great hike but very steep. We were both winded most of the time :0
We also went to a Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. I was amazed at how quickly you can get lost in a corn maze. Luckily we all made it out and found some good pumpkins to take home.

It was so muddy!

Father's Day

20052006

2007
2008We had our 4th annual Picnic Breakfast at Chautauqua Park this Sunday for Father's Day. For the past 4 years the Blankenships and our family meet at the park around 8am with breakfast burritos, cinnamon roles, fruit salad, coffee and mimosas. It is a great tradition that seems to grow every year with new additions to each family and inviting new dads (and their families) to join us. This year the Pattersons helped us celebrate the dads in our lives and it was another great morning of food and fun.

Tilly's New Friend

They read books, shared a drink and had a good old time together.
A little confused? For about 2 or 3 days, the first place Tilly would go in the morning when she came downstairs was right in front of the oven. She would look at her reflection and it was like she was meeting up with a long lost friend. They would sing, laugh, talk, read, or just sit quietly together. It was a riot. I really think she believes there is a little girl who comes to visit her whenever she goes and sits on the rug by the stove. What a funny kid. I love it.
