The aftermath

We had a major windstorm here last night, gusts up to 80mph. We were up a lot of the night listening to everything that was getting tossed about the neighborhood. At one point, 12:04 am to be exact, the moon was even obscured by the great amount of dirt and ash blowing around. Earlier in the afternoon it had looked like another fire had started, but it was just the ash from the last fire that has been out for about 6 weeks now. Not so nice. This morning, we gathered everyone up and headed to the beach expecting to find boats, trees and other debris washed up on shore. We were also ready for huge waves, we had heard 14 feet high. We didn't have our suits on nor did we bring towels. Our plan was to view the aftermath of the storm.
Well, we did find this board. Other than that, it was just a normal beach day. A very warm beach day as the Santa Ana winds are still blowing hot dry winds from the desert to our neck of the beach.

Not good for fires. At least 5 have started in southern California in the past 24 hours.
This is a little different from the white stuff in Jil's yard.

Our caterpillar made its chrysalis today. Hopefully, we'll have a butterfly soon.
