Scrap sock

So, I had some nice soft orange yarn left over from something. I had a lot, or so I thought. I made one little sock (not pictured) and it was a bit big for Lucy, but perfect for Josie. Good. There was still some left over, but not enough for a whole other (I wanted to write 'nother') sock. So I decided to make one that had orange accents. It came out great. I figured Josie wouldn't mind wearing not exactly matching socks. However, somehow I knitted this one on different size needles.....bigger ones.
It fits me!!! Now what?? I have no more orange, very little yellow and no idea which needles I used for the original small orange sock. I guess I could go out and buy more orange and/or yellow, but wouldn't that defeat the purpose of trying to use up scraps?? Any ideas? Help.

As if Josie would care if they match or fit. She would just be so excited to get something in the mail. Send them on out. Maybe I could wear one and she could wear one and we could put on a play about the two socks that got separated at birth.

Or, heck, do YOU care whether your socks match?? It's such a wonderful demonstration of your yarns if you have beautiful yet unmatched homemade socks! Make another one your size, and wear them to keep warm while you make another one Josie's size. Okay, I know, it's 78 degrees today. Still, you get my point. Matched socks are over-rated.

I'm in the middle of another 'my-size' scrap sock now! We're all so brilliant. I'll get to Josie's soon and send it out. Of course, I've started 2 new projects in the meantime (using scraps only!).
