On our first day in Portland, we spent a few hours at the World Forestry Center's Discovery Museum in Washington Park. We also went to Target but I didn't get a picture of that.
It is a pretty cool building and the exhibits were fun for all.
The chair lift to the top of the building was a silly but enjoyable ride.
The building is quite tall.
On the drive from Portland to Bend you have to cross the Cascade Mountains. They are pretty big, and lucky for us, snowy! This is the hill by the parking lot at Timberline Lodge. Perfect for some sledding.
It was actually snowing while we were there. And it was cold.
Lucy went on a few rides, did some ballet poses, and then she and I went back into the lodge to get warm.
This crazy girl stayed out much longer.
Here we all are, warm inside the lodge.
