So, what do you do when you're not yet in the mandatory evacuation zone and it is hotter than h-e-double hockey sticks outside? Slip'n'slide of course. The color in these pictures is a bit weird because there was so much smoke covering the sun. It was really hot, like 94 and less than 20% humidity. Even I took a few slides to cool down.
After a while, I got a bit nervous due to the huge plume of smoke that was blowing directly over our house so I went inside to watch tv coverage and get some packing done just in case.

Pretty scary. Not that different from the Tea Fire 6 months ago.

Until about 7pm it was really windy, gusts up to 60mph. The fire quadrupled and starting going into neighborhoods. Many house have burned. Now at 9 it is much calmer but we can still see red glowing areas up in the foothills. I'll try to post again tomorrow to let everyone know what's going on.
