Lucy's second 9th Birthday

We celebrated Lucy's real birthday in Keystone with Jil and her girls and Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Bart.
This was a busy day as some of us skied, some drove up from Louisville, we all ate sushi and then went home for cake and presents. Phew.
This was a chocolate cake (no raspberries) with chocolate buttercream frosting bought from a local bakery.
Lucy -again- didn't love it, but the rest of us ate it. *
Here are the skiers wearing more clothes than they have all year combined!
For first timers (not John) they did great. A half day lesson at Arapaho Basin followed by 3 more days of skiing at Keystone was perfect.

*I agreed to make a 3rd birthday dessert for Lucy when we got home.
Don't worry, she ended up loving this one!

Utah Christmas - part 2

On New Year's Eve we went bowling with Grandpa Ray and Grandma Liz and some of their friends.  It was a lot of fun.  We also played air hockey which my be the best game ever!

We went skiing two days when we were in Utah.  Once when Chance was there and once after he left.  It was awesome.  The second day was a little cold, 5 degrees.  We made a lot of hot chocolate stops that day.  The first picture is Jil and Tilly, the next is Isabel, Elizabeth and Jil.

More hair and make-up time with Aunt Elizabeth!

Keystone 2012

We went to Keystone last weekend for our annual ski weekend. Although it was great to have time off from school and be away from the house, it wasn't the ideal ski weekend we all hoped for. We headed up Wednesday after school and everything seemed to be going great. Sometime in the middle of the night, things took a turn for the worse. I got a stomach virus (which Tilly had about 6 days earlier) that wasn't fun. The girls were signed up for ski school and I was so excited to ski with Chance. Unfortunately that didn't happen. Chance, my mom and the girls headed to Arapahoe Basin with me at home lying on the couch. Bummer.
Tilly really wanted to try snowboarding so we signed her up for a lesson. Since it was a random Thursday there weren't a lot of people there so she got a private lesson. Her instructor said she has exceptional balance. She had a good time but decided to go back to skiing the next day. Since I wasn't there that day, there aren't many pictures.
The next day, I was feeling better, but Chance had to head home to go work. We decided to take the day off from skiing and just hang out around town. We went to The Ice Castles at Silverthorne. It was really cool.
We also did a little ice skating at the rink at Keystone Village. It is huge.
The sunset was amazing that night. I took a picture of Tilly standing in front of it, it didn't show up to well but it was such a cute picture of Tilly I put it on here anyway.
Here is the real picture of the sunset. Gorgeous!

Tooth fun

I am not sure if you know or not but Tilly had an extra tooth in her mouth. See that pointy one in the middle on the top? That's a bonus tooth. Today, she got it taken out.
All gone! She was quite a trooper (so Chance tells me, I didn't go on this trip to the dentist).
I went skiing today!

Skiing

We went skiing this past week at Loveland and Arapahoe Basin. Here are a few pictures from our day at A-Basin. It was a picture perfect Colorado day with out a cloud in the sky. Everyone did great. It took Tilly a while to get back in to it but once she did, she was on fire.

Keystone

We went up to Keystone last weekend with Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Bart for some skiing and overall fun. It was a blast.
The girls dancing to some pre-skiing music.

Me at the top skiing by myself (heavenly).

Tilly on the big chair lift, which she loved.

Izzy being goofy in the condo...don't ask.

At the top of Keystone Mountain they have a thing called Kidatopia. We went last year too. It was a lot of fun.

Tilly & Chance on the chairlift.

Tilly taking a break...she got pretty tired.

Here is a little video recap of our skiing. It's not too professional. It's a little fuzzy and I'm not sure why it came out that way. It is a crystal clear picture it must have just shrunk a lot to get it on here. I'll work on that, not now though, it's late and I'm tired...enjoy!

Utah Christmas

We had a great trip to Utah. I didn't take a ton of pictures but here are a few of the highlights.

Christmas #2 when we got there!
Isabel had been asking about these forever and then was so bummed when she didn't get them at our Colorado Christmas. It was so much fun watching her open them. I took video of it, I'll try to post it later. Uncle Kenneth helped her lace them up (don't worry, they have a zipper in the back, you don't have to lace and unlace them everytime).
Josie put make-up on Hillary. What a good sport Hillary was.
First day of skiing. Elizabeth, Liz and Jil (from L to R)
Josie getting ready to hit the slopes.
Tilly suiting up.
Izzy, ready to go.
Tilly and I got hot chocolate and played around in the snow while the big guys (Ray, Liz, Kenneth, Hillary, Elizabeth, Isabel and Josie) did a few more runs.
At Alta you can ski free after 3pm. Izzy, Josie and I went up one day and did a few runs. It only takes about 45 min. - 1 hour (in good weather) to get there so it was worth going up for an hour and a half of skiing.
Ray, Liz, Christian and me at the top of Alta.
Tilly after a fun day of ski school!
We also spent some time at the Salt Lake City Public Library. It is an amazing library. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for something to do in SLC on a cold afternoon.

The final day of skiing Tilly rode the chair lift for the first time (she's on the far left). The picture is fuzzy and out of center because it was FREEEEEEEZZZZZZZIINNGG that day. Izzy and I were on the chair in front of Tilly and I tried to turn around to get a picture of her without losing my poles or mittens or my fingers to frostbite. Seriously it was about 10 degrees that day. We only skied for the afternoon and we were still pretty cold. Again, it was worth it because it was fresh powder!
We also had fashion shows with Hillary and Elizabeths clothes and high heels, saw Disney Tangled, went swimming, hung out, played cards and ate great food. Thanks to the Utah crew for making it such a fun trip!
